The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden at California State University Long Beach

Sep 12,2022 4:15 pm /

The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden comprises of 1.3 acres on the campus of California State University Long Beach, in Long Beach, California.

The Miller Family dedicated the Garden in 1981. Ed Lovell, the landscape masterplan architect for the University, traveled to Japan and took inspiration from the Imperial Gardens in Tokyo before designing the garden.

Lovell believed that it would take 30 years to complete a Japanese garden landscape, and he designed this garden by taking this vision into consideration.

For all who enters its gates, the Garden is a living museum, a place of learning art and culture.

You can enjoy the koi pond, beautiful lotus flowers, along with the Japanese Tea House and Zen Garden.

Each season unfolds with colorful blossoms, exciting cultural celebrations, and intriguing exhibits.

This beautiful Japanese Garden is also a popular location for weddings and events.

Omotesenke will host its annual Autumn Tea Ceremony event here on October 16, 2022.
