Apr 16,2023 10:49 am /

Shortly before Rikyu-ki was to be held in 2020, the event was canceled due to the spread of the Coronavirus. 3 years have past and this year, we were able to host an in-person Rikyu-ki with the presence of Consulate General of Japan, Consul General Mr. Takashi Sone.  With the attendance of 44 members, we hosted the event at Miyako Hybrid Hotel in Torrance.  Although it was lightly raining, it was a day for members to commemorate the tea master Sen no Rikyu.

Starting with Ochato (Socha), followed by Chakahuki. The audience watched eagerly as they thought one of the 4 guests would be able to match all the tea names correctly. Unfortunately, no guests were able to match all the tea names correctly, bringing it to an end.

Afterwards, lunch was held with participating members, concluding the event, Rikyu-ki.
